1975 Chevy Vega Kammback GT Wagon

This 1975 Chevrolet Vega wagon was recently purchased from a seller in Austin, Texas through ebay. You might think that would explain the bright University of Texas orange but it's actually the original factory color. Just about everything on this car is original.

The wheels, however, were painted to match the body color. The orange wheels really made the car "pop" and were a very unique detail.

Power to the rear wheels comes from a 2.3 liter 140 cu in OHC inline 4 cylinder engine. The Vega GT model has 87hp and 122 lbs of torque. That's ten more horses than the standard engine! The transmission is a 5-speed manual.

The interior was all original and seems to have had very little use in 36 years. I forgot to ask the owner but I'm pretty sure that's an 8-track cassette player in the dash radio.

All of the Vegas I've seen have been heavily modified for drag racing. I had never seen a Vega, much less a Kammback GT wagon, in original condition before. Although the color was louder than the engine, this was still a great looking car and a very unique ride. Many thanks to the owner for taking the time to share it.
