"La Panzona" awaiting the zombie apocalypse with style.
The owner of this 1965 Ford F100 truck lovingly refers to her as "La Panzona". In English that roughly translates into "Big Belly". She was purchased online and brought down to South Texas from Arizona.
La Panzona is pretty much all original. The engine is the 240 cu in straight six with about 150hp. The speedometer is broken but her top speed is said to be 61mph down hill with the wind.
There are a few small details that need to be fixed like a completely flat dually tire and burned out lights but there won't be much customizing. The owner only plans to give her a few personal details.
La Panzona use to be a laundry truck and apparently use to be all red.
You can still make out the faded graphics from the linen service company
on some of the doors. There's plenty of cargo room in the huge all aluminum body. There is no pass through to the driver's compartment but there are three lockable doors providing access to the back.
Despite her age and "big belly" La Panzona is in fairly good condition and rust free. The dry Arizona climate preserved her well. I'm sure we will be seeing more of La Panzona at various events.
